Tara is the most beloved of all the female enlightened beings in the Tibetan Buddhist pantheon. The essence of awakened love and compassion with 21 forms, she is known as “the mother of all the buddhas” and “she who ferries beings across the ocean of samsara.” Her angry form destroys our anger as the teaching of the Buddha says that anger is unable to remove suffering, only to enlarge the attachments, which caused it, and therefore to grow the anger itself. This is the really fearful way to hells, which angry Tara kindly shows us to turn us to the right path. It is compassionate understanding, which is the only antidote for anger, able to put down its flame. So angry Tara is not angry herself, she is like caring mother creates negative motivation of fear for us to support our progress to enlightenment and happiness.
